Make an alias of the Remember application file and place it in the startup folder (located inside of the system folder). If you like, you can place another alias in the Apple Menu or on the desktop for convenience. The Remember application can be moved, but the file Remember Dates must be kept in the same folder as the application.
Instructions
Remember is a simple little program I wrote to remind me of things that I sometimes tend to forget, like birthdays, loan payments, doctor's appointments, etc. The program gives simple reminders when you turn on your computer, without the complexity of a full-blown personal information manager or scheduling program. It currently supports one time only events, annual events, and monthly events.
When run, Remember displays a window and lists all appropriate reminders. (Or it tells you there are no reminders today.) At this point you can either click the "Done" button (or hit return) which will exit the program, or you can click on the "Edit..." button which will bring up a dialog box allowing events to be added, deleted, edited, and sorted. This is shown below.

The display in the upper left hand corner of the edit dialog box shows how many events there are and which one is currently being displayed. The two buttons labeled "<<" and ">>" are used to move among the events. The "New" button creates a new event. The "Delete" button removes the currently displayed event. The "Sort" button sorts the events chronologically. The "Cancel" button exits the program without saving any changes, and the "Done" button saves all changes and then exits.
Each event is defined by several entries and menus in the dialog box. The month can be January through December or can be "Every". The year is either "This", "Next", or "Every". The text field describes the event, such as "Mom's Birthday", or "Clarissa's appointment". The three "Warn" numbers set how many days before and after the event that normal and urgent reminders are issued.
Remember supports up to 100 events and there must always be at least one event. Events that are too old are automatically deleted. The display is limited to 15 reminders and won't warn you if there are more. (If you need more than 15 reminders in one day, then you probably need a more powerful program.) In the future, I plan to add weekly and biweekly events and make the program smart enough to recognize leap years, among other things.
